GENERAL SUMMARY The Technology Sr. Manager is responsible for leading a team of scientists, engineers and technicians to design, develop, and improve custom polymer compounds; accomplished by working closely with the sales and marketing teams to identify and prioritize development opportunities that will further drive the growth of specialty formulations. This includes leading a team to formulate compounds to meet customers' requirements with respect to mechanical properties, electrical properties, flame resistance, flow, surface appearance, shrinkage, etc., and requires effective resource utilization and team management, as well as good cross-functional coordination. Fifteen years direct relevant experience with the ability to interact, present and influence cross functionally and globally both internally and externally with customers. Performs independently and effectively coaches others to achieve results in a matrix environment. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and influence all levels of organization (PolyOne and Customer), including the VP/GM level. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES o PolyOne's Research & Development and Technology Team strives to: Develop innovative solutions that position PolyOne as the leading specialty solutions provider for customers. o Partner internally and externally to innovate new technology and penetrate strategic markets to solve customer problems. o Create value for customers through value-added services such as tool design and mold flow analysis and optimization of processes and manufacturability. o Manage innovation portfolios, technology plans and resources consistently with business unit priorities. o Effectively deploy idea generation and management, POL process, project management, design of experiments, DLFSS, and other technology tools. o Drive a culture of innovation through creativity, cooperation, collaboration, and engagement. o Achieve target vitality index metrics. o Manage a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians within the scope given below: o Plan, direct, and co-ordinate product development functions independently. o Modify existing formulation without compromising existing properties. o Formulate compounds to meet customers' requirements with respect to mechanical properties, electrical properties, flame resistance, UV stability, flow, surface appearance, shrinkage, etc. o Coordinate with other PolyOne sites for technology transfers where necessary. o Maintain and protect all formulations developed, as well as all formulations transferred from other PolyOne sites. o Coordinate with Process/Product Translation/Production Department for production scale-up. o Assist the Process/Product Translation/Production Department for process trouble-shooting and process improvements where necessary. o Understand and select appropriate raw materials including base resin, fillers, flame retardants, stabilizers, lubricants, etc. to achieve the required compound properties and applications. o Source new raw materials for product development purposes. o Plan raw material cost saving programs through collaboration with Purchasing, Product, Production and Sales Departments where appropriate. o Partner effectively with product stewardship. o Manage the Technology Leadership Development Program and the Mentoring Program. o Business liaison for pipeline of projects. o Responsible for all technology related training. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
